Motic was established in 1988 as a hi-tech industrial enterprise specialized in manufacturing conventional compound microscopes. Since then, the company has grown into a global brand with sales offices in Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Spain and the United States, offering five years warranty on all microscopes models.

During the late 1990s, the company started to explore and develop affordable digital documentation solutions consisting of imaging hardware and application software. This has proven to be a worthwhile investment turning Motic into one of the leading brand names of digital enhancement and documentation products.
